Mission

The mission of our workshop is to enrich the musical and personal development of each student through studying the art of chamber music with a professional string quartet. Students will gain leadership experience, practice technical excellence, and develop effective communication skills while preparing musical works for performance.

Each student is placed in a small ensemble and will participate in daily rehearsals and coachings with members of the Tetra String Quartet and guest faculty. Outside of their small ensembles, students will participate in conductorless chamber orchestra and group activities intended to encourage musical creativity.

Apply and Audition

Violin, viola, cello and double bass musicians through age 25 are eligible to apply. Our traditional student program serves middle- and high-school musicians, while adult participants ages 18–25 will be placed in chamber ensembles with peers of similar age and experience. Younger students may be accepted upon recommendation from a private teacher. Musicians may apply individually or as a pre-formed ensemble.
