TCMI July 2023 Culmination Concert

Saturday, July 15 at 10am

Saint Maria Goretti - Piper Hall

6261 N Granite Reef Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85250

The mission of the Tetra Chamber Music Institute (TCMI) is to train young musicians to perform in small ensembles with excellence and channel their creative strengths to effect positive change in themselves and the community. Founded by the Tetra String Quartet, TCMI is an afterschool chamber music program, the first of its kind in Arizona. As an alternative OR addition to youth orchestra programs, TCMI focuses on each student as an individual with the goal of nurturing each participant intellectually, emotionally, and musically.

To help us continue making TCMI accessible for young musicians regardless of financial situation, donate at: tetrainstitute.org/donate

Suite for Four Violins, Adagio con espressione
Ladislav Gabrielli (1851-ca.1900)

“I’ve been beatboxing since sixth grade. I love how quartets put the players in a more intimate group rather than orchestras which have dozens of people. It’s really nice to get to know the people you’re playing with.”

Audrey Bauschka, violin

“Hi! I was born in San Francisco and moved to Arizona about 2 years ago. One of my favorite moments at this workshop was having different prompts every day to get to know my quartet. Also learning how to actively listen to my fellow string players, breathing and cueing each other to play without a conductor.”

Sarah Pineda, violin

“I was born in California and raised in New York and Idaho. One of my favorite moments at this workshop was being able to work with and get to know my quartet members. I was also able to meet/talk to other people through the Tetra activities.”
